Newmarket

1.50pm

Majestic Dawn

He was clearly very impressive when winning at Newbury in April and he has run well in two of the most competitive handicaps of the season since. He finished seventh to the exciting Headman at Newbury and then occupied the same position when stepped up to 1m4f in the King George V handicap. The latter run suggested the return to 1m2f would suit him, and eased 1lb in the weights, I’d like to think he has an each-way chance here, in what is another very competitive race.

Lissitzky

He ran below par here last month and then could never get into it at Newcastle last time, and you would have thought the handicapper may have dropped him more than 1lb for those runs. But, then again, he is only 3lb higher than when winning over 1m6f on fast ground on the Rowley course in May and he definitely enters calculations on that victory.
