Line Of Reason

He is steadily running into form, loves firm ground and is on a very fair mark again, so he is well capable of popping up in this big-field sprint handicap. He went up 1lb for his good third at York last time but that still leaves him 2lb lower than when winning well at Ayr last season and he has a couple of good runs to his name at this track, too. Everything looks set for a good run.

Mr Nutherputt

I genuinely don’t know anything about him! But he cost 42,000gns as a yearling and is related to plenty of winners, so fingers crossed.

Salisbury

Caribeno

I haven’t ridden him, but I have worked alongside him, and this is a nice middle-distance colt for next year, being by Archipenko out of the excellent 1m4f winner Cubanita. Hopefully, he will put up a good show with the stable now swinging into form again, but he will undoubtedly improve for the run.

Sundiata

She was in good form in the spring, but we haven’t seen her since her fifth at Ripon in April. This will be the quickest ground she has encountered too, but 6f looks her trip and she is obviously lightly-raced, so she looks to have a pretty good chance. And the cheek pieces that she wore last time are now accompanied by a tongue-tie, so hopefully that helps.

Hydroplane

He ran poorly the last time we saw him at Hamilton in May, but obviously our horses were badly out of form then and maybe he didn’t like the soft ground there. But he was dropped 3lb to 61, which allows him to get into this 0-60, and his recent work has been much better. He will clearly have to leave his previous form behind, but the step up in trip will suit and I’d like to think he is on the right side of the handicapper.
