He found his form a bit towards the back-end last season – he wasn’t at his best in the opening to the campaign, which included a ninth in this race – finishing placed twice at Kempton in September, but the handicapper played fair with him. So he makes his reappearance on a very good mark if he can recapture his 2017 form and he does have some form in the soft, for all a better surface would probably be preferable. A draw in eight could have been worse.
