HAYDOCK

2:05 Handicap

Wahash (Sean Levey)

I thought he ran a very good race in the Unibet Lincoln behind a very smart horse and the ground was too quick for him at Bath last time. Both his wins have been at a mile but this is a stiff seven furlongs and any softening in the ground will be in his favour. He’s enjoyed a few days in our grass pens so is fresh and well and I hope he can put up a good show.

2:40 Handicap

Ouzo (Sean Levey)

We’ve always liked him and the form of his fifth behind Skardu is looking very good now! He’s wintered really well, the step up to a mile will be in his favour and I think there could be room for improvement off his mark of 71. I fancy him to go extremely close.

Ventura Glory (Seamus Cronin)

She will like plenty of cut and if she can finish anything better than fifth I’ll be really happy as that’s where she’s finished in all of her runs so far! Seamus has ridden her before and takes a valuable 5lbs off her back and she will definitely have come on for her last run.

3:45 Fillies’ Stakes

Shamkha (Fergus Sweeney)

We gave her a run last backend for experience and she’ll definitely strip fitter for her reappearance at Wolverhampton last month. She’s a sweet little filly who will be winning races but this looks a tough race and I expect her to be more effective once she gets a mark.

4:50 Handicap

War Glory (Fergus Sweeney)

He takes his racing really well and I was extremely pleased with his run at Nottingham two starts ago but the ground at Bath last time was much too quick as they have no watering system there so there wasn’t much ‘good’ in the going. We’ve done absolutely nothing with him at home since his last run and he’s enjoyed a few days out in the grass paddocks to keep him fresh. He ran well (second) round her before and he shouldn’t be far away.

RIPON

2:20 Handicap

Al Barg (Rossa Ryan)

He had a setback which kept him off the track for a lot of last season but prior to that he was very consistent and the blinkers help him concentrate. I expect him to come on for the run but he’s as fit as I can get him at home and I wouldn’t put you off backing him each way.

2:55 Handicap

Buridan (Martin Dwyer)

Six furlongs on fast ground is right up his street so I hope there’s not too much rain up there. He ran a very good race at Newmarket last time and a reproduction of that effort would give him a chance in this.

5:05 Handicap

Wedding Date (Rossa Ryan)

She is extremely quick and very consistent so there’s plenty to like about her off her current mark of 81. She’s entitled to improve for the run but if getting a nice lead I can see her running a huge race.

Enchanted Linda (Hollie Doyle)

She’s another very sharp filly with plenty of class and I think she’ll definitely strip fitter here after blowing the cobwebs away at Nottingham last time. To be honest there’s not much separating these two fillies and I wouldn’t rule either of them out.

LEICESTER

5:35 Handicap

Glory (Tom Marquand)

I think seven furlongs is his trip and he’s very unlucky to still be a Maiden. He’s our only runner at the meeting so I hope it won’t be a wasted journey and that run at a Kempton will have sharpened him up.

DONCASTER

5:45 Maiden

Ocasio Cortez (Sean Levey)

She was bought quite cheaply at Tatts Ireland last September but is quite a sharp precocious filly who is ready to go. Everything she has shown has been good and I don’t think she’ll be far away at all.

6:15 Maiden

Chatham House (Sean Levey)

He is the most experienced horse in the field and has been placed in all of his six runs, bar one, so if any horse deserves to get his head in front, it’s him! He’s grown a lot during the winter and is a big strong horse who would have needed his first run at Kempton. He can be quite keen but with all these runners there should be plenty of pace and he must have an excellent chance in a race like this.

6:45 Handicap

Nayel (Luke Catton)

We tried him on the All Weather last time and he appeared to hate it, plus he is quite a big, raw horse who takes plenty of getting fit so he will definitely be much sharper this time. He loves it like a road so any rain wouldn’t be in his favour but Luke takes a valuable 7lbs off his back therefore I think he has a massive chance of going close here.

8:15 Handicap

Molaaheth (Sean Levey)

He’s got a tongue tie on for the first time which will hopefully help and he’ll have come on plenty for his first run of the season at Wolverhampton. We’ve had to be quite patient with him but he’s gradually getting there and I think he’ll develop into a decent three-year-old.

WOLVERHAMPTON

7:00 Handicap

Hermocrates (Thore Hammer-Hansen)

In affect he’s actually a pound well in after going up 4lbs for his Wolverhampton win but with Thore’s 5lbs claim he could be well treated in this. We’re up a little bit in Grade but he likes it around here and should go close if able to get a good position from stall 11.
