Barca v Rayo Vallecano – Saturday, March 9 at 17:30 GMT

Barca face Ray Vallecano on Saturday knowing they have to keep one eye on the Champions League. Messi and co. face Lyon in Europe on Wednesday and are desperate to clinch European honours as much as domestic titles.

And manager Ernesto Valverde may therefore rest a few key players for this match with Vallecano. It’s been a long season for Luis Suarez so far and he could be rested, while Messi may also be given time on the bench.

Expect Philippe Coutinho to get a start in what is a less important game than what is coming up. Ousmane Dembele could well be left out to make room for Coutinho.

Make sure to watch the football live stream from the Nou Camp and keep an eye on those changing betting odds.

Barca are 1.16 to win this match and beat Vallecano 3-2 back in November — without Messi. At home int he Nou Camp, this should be a routine win for the Catalan side. They are 7.00 to win 3-0.

Sevilla v Real Sociedad – Sunday, March 10 at 17:30 GMT

Sevilla have dramatically slipped away from the top four in La Liga since the start of the year, with eight defeats in 13 games across all competitions. Their slump has killed off chances of a top-four finish and Sevilla are now struggling to keep hold of sixth place.

Amazingly, they are still impressing in Europe and there is a suggestion Sevilla are sacrificing league form in order to target Europa League glory. That has worked for them in the past but it’s a risky strategy.

Defeats to Huesca and Villarreal of late have put the pressure on manager Pablo Machin. Sevilla are 1.67 to beat Sociedad on Sunday but that is certainly not a given. Sociedad have lost just once in their last 11 games and drew 0-0 with Sevilla back in November.

Add to that the fact Sevilla played Slavia Prague in the Europa League three days before this game, and Sociedad are a good bet at 4.75 to win.

Valladolid v Madrid – Sunday, March 10 at 19:45 GMT

A disastrous season for Madrid is now limping to its conclusion and, while they are 1.60 to beat Valladolid, victory is far from certain.

Madrid are expected to appoint a new manager in the summer and could trigger a squad overhaul to prepare for the new season. There is a great apathy amongst the squad right now and Valladolid could well exploit that.

Valladolid are fighting against relegation and know three points here would be a massive bonus to their cause. They only lost 2-0 at the Bernabeu back in November – when Madrid were flying under Santiago Solari!

Now, Valladolid have lost their last three games and have won just once since December 9. But this Madrid team are there for the taking. Three defeats in a row and a recent loss to Girona prove this Los Blancos side are vulnerable. Valladolid are 5.25 to win.
