Tennis live stream and betting at the New York Open

Early dead certs

Tennis tournaments — especially on the ATP Tour — can be slow going in the early rounds. The favourites can usually be trusted to win opening matches, such is the men’s game where consistency is key above everything else.

Querrey v Lloyd – Wednesday, February 13 at 01:50 GMT

Make sure you’ve a strong coffee at the ready if you’re wanting to stay up late and bet on this tennis live stream. Sam Querrey is hunting a first ATP title since Mexico in 2017 and comes into New York with confidence. The American reached the final of this event last year, before losing in three sets to Kevin Anderson.

Querrey has never faced Lloyd Harris, the 21-year-old South African who won the Launceston Open title last Sunday. Harris is one for the future and a potential banana skin for Querrey. This is a great match to live stream tennis and bet in-play during. Harris is 2.75 to cause an upset.

Isner v Tomic – Wednesday, February 13 at 15:00 GMT

Wednesday sees the top seeds enter the fray and there is no bigger match that John Isner v Bernard Tomic. Big-serving Isner is 1.45 to beat Tomic, who was a first-round casualty at the Australian Open on his last tournament appearance. Tomic has failed to kick on from his early promise but is a strong baseline returner and that will be needed against the monstrous Isner serve.

Isner boasts a W3 L0 record over Tomic but these guys have not met since 2016. First-seed Isner is now 33 years old and fatigue may start catching up with the big man. He should beat Tomic, but may not make it to the New York Open final.

Karlovic v Albot – Wednesday, February 13 at 15:00 GMT

Another player worth following at the New York Open is Ivo Karlovic. The unseeded Croat takes on Moldova’s Radu Albot in a first-round encounter that should be easily settled. Karlovic is 39 years old and still going strong. He is by no means in the running to win the New York Open but could get a result here.

Karlovic reached the Maharashtra Open final in January and also made it through one match of the Australian Open before being stopped by Kei Nishikori. He is 1.63 to win on Wednesday.

New York Open winner bets

So who will win the New York Open? Well, Isner is the 4.00 favourite in the Unibet tennis betting market. But, as previously mentioned, the 33-year-old may feel the strain of this tournament as it heads deep into the week.

Indeed, Isner is projected to meet either Frances Tiafoe or Steve Johnson in the final in New York. Isner does have a W2 L0 record over Tiafoe but the latter appears to have the easier route through the early rounds this week. He is 4.50 to win the title.

Yet Johnson is the big bet here. Eighth seed Tennys Sandgren has already been knocked out of his quarter, meaning Tiafoe is the only likely troubling opponent Johnson has between him and the final.

Johnson beat Isner in three sets when the pair last met, in Houston last year. He boasts a W5 L4 record over Isner — a winning record that very few tour players have. And Johnson has won all four of his most recent meetings with the big man, three of which were on hard courts.

Johnson is 8.00 to win the New York Open and a decent shout.
