THE mare Magic Of Light remained in England this week and she was very good at Ascot last weekend. That’s two big races that she has won for us this season and rather than bring her home, we boarded her with Paul Webber this week and she runs at Huntington tomorrow in a Listed Mares' Chase.

It was very good of Paul to do that and while it is a very quick turnaround, I am happy for her take her chance.

We’ll see how she gets on there, and looking ahead I think she might go for either the English (Aintree) or the Irish National (Fairyhouse) and the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse is as an option for her after Huntington – I’m favouring the Irish National at the minute.

The good ground has helped her too this season. She got stuck in heavy ground last season but has strengthened up well since. She stays well and she’s rated 150 over fences now, so she’s guaranteed a run at Fairyhouse and it’s worth a lot of money.

I also run Not Many Left in the Pertemps Qualifier and I’ve been delighted with him. He won his maiden last year and competed well in graded company as a novice.  He ran well at Limerick at Christmas time when he just got a little muscle tired for his first run of season. He has come on a nice bit for that run, though he may want the ground a bit softer.
