And you can watch and bet on every match live right here with Unibet!

The Snooker Championship League consists of seven groups, with the victor of each one going into a final Winner’s Group to be held in March.

Groups 5 and 6 will compete this week, with Ali Carter, Barry Hawkins and Mark Selby all in action.

So how does the Snooker Championship League work? Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament — and who to watch snooker live and bet in-play with Unibet this week!

How the Snooker Championship League works

The format of the Snooker Championship League is not straightforward. Twenty-five players have already competed across four groups. The individual winners of those groups have automatically qualified for the Winner’s Group, which is effectively the last stage of the competition.

Runners-up from the four opening groups get a second chance of making the Winner’s Group. That is Groups 5, 6 and eventually 7 come in.

Four groups have already been played out, with Stuart Bingham, Judd Trump, Jack Lisowski and Neil Robertson safely through to the Winner’s Group.

Matches are best-of-five frames, with everyone facing each other in a group. That means over the course of January 21 to 24, you can live stream snooker from 98 matches will be played at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry!

Group 5

Mark Selby is the favourite to progress out of Group 5 here in Coventry. He gets his tournament underway against Barry Hawkins in the fourth match on Monday. Selby is a three-time world champion and boasts 15 tournament wins. The 35-year-old crashed out of the Masters in the quarter-finals last week with a 6-2 loss to Trump.

Ali Carter, meanwhile, takes on Stephen Maguire in his first match on Monday, January 21. Carter boasts a W12 L7 record against Maguire but lost the last time they met, at the 2018 UK Championship. This will be a closer match than the snooker betting odds suggest — and both are priced at 1.88 to win this match.

Group 6

These matches will take place on January 23 and 24 in Coventry and David Gilbert, Martin Gould and Xiao Guodong are already confirmed in the group. First up is Guodong v Gould and this only the second clash between the pair. They met at the 2017 UK Championship, where Gould snuck through to the quarter-finals 6-4. It was not a high-scoring match, with only four 50+ breaks across the 10 frames.

But that is good news for snooker betting fans. Tight games – especially when you watch snooker online – are great for playing the betting odds. Expect another tight clash here which should go into a fifth frame.
