SATURDAY – KEMPTON
2.05pm
Keeper Hill
This race has obviously been opened up considerably by Altior not running, but Frodon and Top Notch will clearly take all the beating here, even with their 6lb penalties. We were obviously delighted and a little bit surprised by Keeper Hill’s Haydock win on his return, and that form was franked when the runner-up Midnight Shadow won the Dipper, albeit in fortunate circumstances. He was obviously disappointing in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup last time but the soft ground was against him there, and hopefully, it won’t ride as testing on the chase course around here. And that Haydock win does give him a squeak getting weight from the top two.
WARWICK
12.20pm
Folks On The Hill
I don’t know a lot about him as it stands, but I see he cost a fair bit earlier in his career and he has a good pedigree.
SUNDAY – KELSO
4.00pm
Kiltealy Briggs
He also had the option of Kempton on Saturday but it was decided to come to Kelso. Hopefully, he does so with a very good winning chance as it is a long way up here! He has a penalty to carry but the form he has shown in scoring easily at Hexham, and notably when a great third in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last time, marks him out as the one to beat, though he does face a fair sort in Elf De Re.
