I rode him at Newbury last time and the soft ground wouldn’t have been ideal for him there, but he came down 2lb for it and he is certainly handicapped to play a role here, given that he is now just 4lb higher than when winning at Doncaster last season and he went on to win well at Beverley afterwards. This is his first start around here and obviously he will need all the luck going considering his run-style, as he likes to take a lead, but a draw in seven could have been worse. Good to soft will be fine for him, but it looks like being soft and that would worry me a fair bit.
